A glorious day greeted the 48 Competitors for the Annual Team Trophy Event played at Mold on Sunday and all reports were fulsome in their praise for the Setup and Course Condition and, of course, the apres Golf camaraderie and friendship were well in evidence as hard-luck tales and news of great shots abounded.

Acting on local advice (!!!) Glyn limited the Birdie 2 holes to 3 only and at the end of the day although there were 8 claimants (2 from Alan Stubbs) for Birdie 2's but, believe it or not, all on the holes not included. After a prolonged discussion, the 'Dynamic Duo' decided to be their usual generous selves and rescinded the original rule and presented Golf Balls to all 8.

The eventual result was a very close run thing with a great  'best of the day' 40 Stableford points carded by Club Captain, Richie Alli ably backed up by Kevin Leech and Gary Jones giving Holywell 109 points just edging out Hawarden's Alan Stubbs, Alan Beavan and Ken Jones by 1 point with P&B in third place with Mike Holland, Stuart Fogarty and Nigel Bingham. Mold's team of Roger Howes, Roy Fisher and Tony Davies clinched 4th place.

This win gave Holywell their second consecutive success having defended the title they won last year.
