Padeswood & Buckley Golf Club hosted the match which has been played for over many years between The Association and Denbighshire Past Captains Association on Monday 2 June, which brought both associations their finest players to compete in an atmosphere of friendly rivalry.
The warm and sunny weather was enjoyed by all, and credit was given to the head greenkeeper and his staff for presenting an excellent golf course .
We were honoured to have Gordon Clough aged 95 Past President of the Association 2018 accompanied by Glyn Lewis Immediate Past Captain to join us for the meal.
Alan Birch ,The Captain of Padeswood & Buckley welcomed both Associations, and thanked the caterers and bar staff for looking after us.
Our match Secretary Mike Holland had the dubious task of reading out the results, giving Denbighshire Past Captains a resounding win of 7 matches to 4.
Boyd Williams with delight presented the Bickley Wheel Trophy to Ken Williams Captain of Denbighshire Past Captains Association.
Ken Williams thanked the Padeswood & Buckley for hosting this prestigious event, and is looking forward to next year when The Denbighshire Past Captains can hand back The Bickley Wheel to The Flintshire Past Captains Association
